Breeze Airways Expands Route Map with Two New Routes and a New City
Breeze Airways, the startup carrier known for its budget-friendly fares and alternative airport strategy, announced the addition of two new routes and one new city to its growing network. The airline continues to fill in its route map, focusing on expanding its presence in the West.
One of the new routes will connect Breeze’s newest city, Ogden, Utah, with John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. The service is set to begin on February 21, 2024. Ogden will become Breeze’s second airport in Utah, joining Provo Airport. Both airports serve as alternative options to the main hub in Salt Lake City.
Ogden, located approximately 35 miles north of Salt Lake City, currently has limited commercial airline service. Breeze will be the only carrier operating at the airport, as Avelo Airlines, the most recent airline to serve Ogden, does not currently have scheduled flights there. Breeze’s decision to include Ogden in its network reflects the airline’s strategy of targeting underserved markets and providing affordable options for travelers.
Breeze’s second new route will connect San Bernardino International Airport in California with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The service will start on February 15, 2024, and run through June 2, 2024, as a seasonal offering. Breeze already operates two routes from San Bernardino, serving Las Vegas and San Francisco.
The addition of these new routes further expands Breeze’s network, bringing the total number of cities served to 45. Recent additions include Evansville, Indiana; Grand Junction, Colorado; and Madison, Wisconsin. However, the airline has also made cuts in markets where it struggled to gain traction, with Tulsa, Oklahoma, being one of the recent casualties.
Breeze Airways differentiates itself by offering low fares and a simplified, customer-centric experience. The airline aims to fill the gap between full-service carriers and ultra-low-cost carriers by providing affordable and convenient travel options. Breeze’s strategic use of alternative airports allows it to avoid congestion and offer competitive fares to travelers.
To support its expansion plans, Breeze operates a fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The airline’s fleet features a seating layout designed for passenger comfort, with spacious cabins and modern amenities. Breeze’s introductory fares for the new routes start at $39, making air travel more accessible for budget-conscious travelers.
As Breeze continues to expand its route map, travelers can expect more options for affordable air travel to both popular and underserved destinations. The airline’s focus on customer satisfaction and competitive pricing sets it apart in a rapidly evolving industry. Whether it’s exploring new cities or visiting familiar destinations, Breeze Airways aims to provide a refreshing travel experience for all.
